Bass are active and feeding mostly on shad. Main-lake points are holding good numbers of bass, and brush piles will become key spots as the month progresses. Using a jig, jerkbait, and jig-head minnow works well. On overcast days, jerkbaits and jig-head minnows excel, while sunny days favor jigs in brush areas. There’s also a solid topwater bite early in the day.

The summer pattern is underway for striped and hybrid bass. Live bait like shiners is most effective, especially around main-lake points and humps near creek mouths at the south end of the lake. Evening fishing at the dam and Kellogg flats is productive, with trolling umbrella rigs near Tanyard Creek producing good results.
